Timberline Construction Completes 10,342 SF Secure Data Center in Somerville

Timberline was contracted to provide interior demolition and to fit-out existing shell space for expansion of a secure, high-performance data center in Somerville, MA. The project scope included construction at two levels and an existing roof.

Timberline successfully performed the work in a sensitive and occupied colocation facility with secure access, which involved installation of new wall systems and ceilings demising the space. The project also required extensive fire suppression, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure, including interconnections to existing systems and equipment. Installations of critical battery equipment and switch gear was carefully completed by the Timberline team during coordinated shutdowns requiring all hands-on deck and performed during very tight timelines. Tie-ins to the master control panel in the security office was also completed to bring this new location on line. In depth coordination with the facility staff and a number of their direct vendors and subcontractors was required throughout the project.
