Brandeis Foster Mods

Waltham, MAArea: 35,000 square feet

This project includes renovations to thirty-six multi-story townhouse dormitory units for Brandeis University. The Mods were built as a temporary living space intended to last a year, and were eventually converted into permanent structures. After 40 years, they have been upgraded as part of a campus-wide renovation project. The $1.7 million renovation involved the construction of a new membrane and shingled roofs, new exterior siding and trim, the replacement of 300 windows and window treatments, drywall repairs, carpet replacement, all new kitchen appliances and lighting upgrades. The apartment style residence halls consist of four to six bedrooms per unit, a common living room, kitchen and full and half bathrooms.
