BU Photonics CenterBoston, MA
The Boston University Photonics Center has become well known for building a strong academic program in the filed of photonics: the science and engineering of light. The University’s leadership in the filed is supported by a state-of-the-art facility that includes an optical fiber draw tower and more than a dozen special-purpose research laboratories. This fast-track project involved renovations to room B10 of the center to create a sample prep room, provide work surfaces, exhaust arms, storage space and all new finishes. Scope of work also included the relocation of existing optical tables in room 505, new plumbing and electrical lines to each table and the installation of a new blackout shade to match existing as well as furnishings and installation of Dri-Steem humidifiers into the ductwork in the clean rooms.
